DayPilot Pro 4.3 released

DayPilot Pro 4.3 was just released.

The biggest new feature is the month view:

It's a separate control (DayPilotMonth) which uses an API similar to DayPilotCalendar (the same data binding and event model).

The highlights:
  • It works smoothly with multirow events (i.e. events that span not only multiple days but multiple weeks). That means you can move and resize them easily. In this regard, DayPilotMonth is now a step ahead DayPilotCalendar (which will benefit from these improvements in one of the future releases).
  • It adjusts the row height automatically according to the number of events. You define the minimum cell height (MinCellHeight property). This is different from how Microsoft Outlook works: Outlook shows three dots to indicate that there are hidden events.
  • It detects the current culture automatically (the server-side culture). All day and month names are translated automatically.
It is a first version of the month view and it has some limitations (e.g. time range selection support is limited, see the release notes for a full list). The feature set will be completed within 1-2 releases. Don't hesitate to tell me about the features you are missing the most (daypilot @ annpoint.com).

DayPilot Pro 4.4

The next release is scheduled for 1 January 2008 and the feature list is already quite full. The main new feature will be on-demand loading for DayPilotScheduler (which will be a great relief for those using the year view with a lot of resources). DayPilotScheduler will also support a double scrollbar (both vertical and horizontal) to improve handling of schedules with 20+ resources.

Most likely, there will be a service pack coming before 4.4 that will make DayPilot Pro compatible with .NET Framework 3.5.
