DayPilot Pro 3.8 released

On July 11, DayPilot Pro 3.8 was released.

There are 5 main new features:

1. Reduced footprint:
  • HTML footprint for DayPilotCalendar was reduced to 25% from 157 kB to 40 kB (week view).
  • HTML footprint for DayPilotVertical was reduced to 10% from 497 kB to 51 kB (month view).
This improves initial loading time and shortens partial PostBack when used inside an UpdatePanel. Read the release notes for more details.

2. Calendar event selecting

There is a new optional handling of event click: The clicked event will be selected (with enhanced top and bottom borders):

See online demo or read more in the release notes.

3. StartDate switching using AJAX CallBack

It is now possible to use a new client-side function to change StartDate property using an AJAX CallBack. It allows implementing date switching buttons:

See online demo or read more in the release notes.

4. Real event length

There is a new property UseEventBoxes (bool, default value is true) that allows rendering the events in real length.

UseEventBoxes="true"

UseEventBoxes="false"

See online demo or read more in the release notes.

5. Safari 2 compatibility

DayPilot Pro is now compatible with Safari 2 (on MacOS X). The supported browsers are now Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2, and Safari 2.
